Insurance
Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.
Amy Homer Counseling is currently in network with the following insurances:
Aetna Anthem – BCBS | BlueCross and BlueShield Cigna / Evernorth Custom Design Benefits | Medical Mutual Lyra MedBen UMR UnitedHealthcare UHC | UBH |
We’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
- Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
- Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
- Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
- Does my plan cover telehealth services with therapist’s online platform?
Payment
We accept cash, check and all major credit cards as forms of payment. Payment policy is stated in informed consent paperwork.
No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimate (Self-Pay Clients)
Under the federal No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of the expected cost of your therapy services if you are:
Paying out of pocket (self-pay)
Not using insurance or an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Or if you request an estimate, even if you have insurance
What Is a Good Faith Estimate?
A Good Faith Estimate is a written estimate of the expected charges for your psychotherapy services based on the information known at the time. This may include your per-session fee and the estimated total cost over a period of care.
Your Right to Dispute Certain Charges
If you receive a bill for self-pay services that is $400 or more higher than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill through a federal patient-provider dispute resolution process within 120 days of receiving the bill.
Information about this dispute process will be provided upon request.
Insurance & EAP Notice
Good Faith Estimates are not required for clients using insurance or EAP benefits, because those services are subject to the terms of your health plan. However:
You may still request a Good Faith Estimate at any time
Insurance and EAP benefits do not guarantee payment
Any balances not covered by insurance or EAP remain your responsibility
If you would like to request a Good Faith Estimate, please contact the practice before your session.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand so that I can fill the session time with another client. Otherwise, you may be charged for the $75 late cancellation/no show fee.
